Connections Fibre Artists Catch Up

It is definitely easier to 'Keep Up' than to 'Catch UP' ... but here's a beginning, again.

During the devastating period of Covid 19 we, Connections Fibre Artists, managed to connect with each other through Zoom meetings and actively sought to put up new shows. It was a period of extended staying safe at home ... a very hard thing to do when we are social animals and we artists love to share the energy expended when we are together.

Last Feb, 2022 some of us met at the Wellington County Museum & Archives to see a collection of 'Toys' that are in their archives. The assortment was amazing ...  from vintage china tea sets to an old Cabbage Patch Kid. Each member chose one or two toy items that evoked memories and/or inspiration.  Titled 'Re:PLAY' this show will debut late in 2024.

We have tossed around a theme, for a few years now,  that would only require the main colour of any 'blue', with a few neutrals allowed ... a title isn't definite yet and a venue is being sought.

In early January, 2024, we will be putting up a show honouring one of our own members ... a truly remarkable woman ! ... Sybil Rampen ... at the Orillia Museum of Art & History, Orillia, ON.                                       Watch for it !

Hopefully we are on the road to many more shows and active participation with each other.
